Tell us about your experience with/connection to Diabetes

I'm a Type 1, diagnosed at age 24.  I have a Minimed pump, which I love, and a new real-time monitor which I'm getting used to (so far, so great!).  Still waiting for a cure...

    thanks for your blog comment :) I think you are right about people not needing to know, even though I fear that caused a lot misunderstandings during that weekend with my friends... dunno

    wait a minute...just after I posted that last comment I noticed your profile and that you are basically from indiana. Amazing! So am I! Not only that, but I grew up in MUNCIE through high school, went to Anderson University in Andersor for 5 years of college, and then moved to California after I graduated. I'll just get the cliche out of the way now and type, "Small world, huh?"{

    curiosity...as I am assuming from our brief hiking conversation, you hike often, yes? My wife and I went hiking again this weekend, and I am wondering whether you notice a difference in your BGL's when you are into higher altitudes. I've gone up to Tahoe twice since having got T1 last summer, and the first night both times I got low in the middle of the night...but its as if my blood acclimates to the altitude or something because its always the first night only. What have you noticed?
