welcome
i'm currently looking into getting a contourLink meter to go with my minimed pump... i would like to know what others think of it? is it the same basically as the contour?, what exactly do you like or don't like? does the CountourLink meter use the same test strips as the contour? does the contour meter/test strips WAIT for you to put in enough blood BEFORE it STARTS counting down? or does it go like the onetouch and start counting down just as soon as the first speck of blood hits it even though there is not fully enough blood on the strip to give you a reading and so therefore making you waste a strip? how does the size of the contour meter compare with the onetouch ultra, or ultra2 or ultrasmart? ..bigger? smaller?..thicher? thinner? ..is the test strip container/vial bigger or smaller than the onetouch strips? do you use the contour meter's software? how does it rate? ..
for reference, i am used to using the onetouch ultra and ultrasmart meters, and rarely the ultra2....
thanks for the input!
it will take me great lengths to acquire a contourLink meter since i live in the US and they wont ship them(mmol meters) here, i will have to get a canadian friend to do be my go-between. counting in mg is something i refuse to learn! ugh, i hate the big numbers. i'd much rather see that my bg is 6.7mmols, than (120mg)!!! i learned all my conversions in mmols since day one, and i plan to keep my measurments in a language i understand.

I do have the old contour. I can tell you that there is no backlight on the old one. I don't know off hand if the new ones does my old contour do take the new test strips so I am ok that way. I do know that the new meter can hold more tests and is easier to use. I know bayer has a great support nextwork here is the phone number 1800 268 7200 please let know if this helps take care shelly
ps I found the bayer website that might help www.ascensia.ca this site may help too i will try to find some more info for you thanks
